Instructions for Use

  1. Preparation: Ensure all components (pot, stem, basket, spreader, and lid) are clean and free of debris. Check for any damage to avoid leaks or malfunction.
  2. Water: Fill the pot with cold water up to the 9-cup mark (or desired level, not exceeding capacity). Avoid overfilling to prevent spills during percolation.
  3. Coffee Grounds: Place the stem into the pot, then attach the perforated basket on top. Add coarsely ground coffee (1 tablespoon per cup is a common ratio) into the basket.
  4. Assembly: Secure the spreader plate over the basket and place the lid on the pot, ensuring the transparent knob is aligned for visibility.
  5. Heating: Place the percolator on a stovetop or campfire over medium heat. Watch through the knob as the water begins to percolate (you’ll see it bubbling up through the stem). Adjust heat to maintain a gentle percolation—avoid boiling vigorously to prevent bitterness.
  6. Brewing Time: Allow percolation to continue for 6–10 minutes, depending on desired strength. Remove from heat once done.
  7. Serving: Use the handle (with a pot holder if hot) to pour coffee. Remove the stem, basket, and spreader to avoid sediment in the cup.
  8. Cleaning: Disassemble all parts after cooling. Hand wash with warm soapy water, avoiding abrasive scrubbers to preserve the finish. Dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.

Note: Test the percolator with water only on your first use to ensure it functions properly. Always handle with care on heat sources, and never leave unattended while brewing.
