Hazel-Atlas Glass Company was a powerhouse in American glass manufacturing, formed in 1902 through the merger of four predecessor companies: Hazel Glass and Metals Company (established in 1887), Atlas Glass Company, Republic Glass Company, and Wheeling Metal Plant.

Founded by brothers Charles N. Brady and C.H. Tallman, who initially started Hazel Glass in 1885 in Wellsburg, West Virginia, the company expanded rapidly, specializing in fruit jars, bottles, and eventually tableware.

Headquartered in Washington, Pennsylvania, Hazel-Atlas became one of the largest glass producers in the U.S., known for innovative machine-made products that made affordable, stylish glassware accessible to everyday households. They pioneered colored transparent dinnerware in the 1920s and were a key player in the Depression glass market during the 1930s.

They offered patterns that combined functionality with aesthetic appeal. The company operated multiple factories across states like West Virginia, Ohio, and Oklahoma until 1964, when it was acquired by Continental Can Company, marking the end of its independent era.
